Three generations in the service of the Guru ਤਿੰਨ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ
Bhai Sahib Simranjeet Singh Ji was born in the village of Tohana. It was in 1950 that his grandfather performed the Parkash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji for the first time in the village. Since then the family has remained in the Guru’s service, Bhai Sahib being the third generation to do so. ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਟੋਹਾਣਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ। ਸੰਨ ੧੯੫੦ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਦਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਇਸ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੀ ਤੀਜੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਹਨ।
From childhood Bhai Sahib was spiritually inclined towards the teachings of Guru Sahib as given in Gurmat. ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਰੁਚੀ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਸੀ।
The Lord is awake; we have slept ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਾਗਦਾ ਹੈ; ਅਸੀਂ ਸੁੱਤੇ ਪਏ ਹਾਂ
Through Gurbani, Bhai Sahib explains that the Lord — the husband — is himself awake, while we, the bride, have slept since eternity. We have forgotten where we came from and the real purpose for which we are here, because we became attached to maya and never gave the question much importance. ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਮਝਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ — ਕੰਤ — ਆਪ ਜਾਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ, ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤਰੀ, ਅਨਾਦਿ ਕਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਸੁੱਤੇ ਪਏ ਹਾਂ। ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਏ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਆਏ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡਾ ਅਸਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਕੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
He explains the teaching of Akath Katha — the unspoken — that Gurbani gives us: that when the Lord becomes pleased with our deeds, he himself bestows his mercy and creates the thirst to meet him. Bhai Sahib explains the techniques of pure and ultimate union with Waheguru through Naam Simran, with the teachings drawn purely from Gurbani, that vast treasure. ਉਹ ਅਕੱਥ ਕਥਾ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ: ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਡੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਤੜਪ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਸੱਚੇ ਤੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ — ਉਸ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ — ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੀ ਲਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਇਕਨਾ ਭਾਣੈ ਕਢਿ ਲਏ ਇਕਨਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
Iknhaa bhaanai kadh la-ay, iknhaa maayaa vich nivaas.
“Some, by the Pleasure of His Will, are lifted up out of Maya, while others are made to dwell within it.” “ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।”

Why the mind is never satisfied ਮਨ ਕਦੇ ਰੱਜਦਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ
The mission is to help everyone live in true bliss, which can only come through the Name of God. We have all realised that material things give us only temporary happiness: once we attain what we wanted, the mind simply asks for more. ਮਨੋਰਥ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਸੱਚੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸੇ, ਜੋ ਕੇਵਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਥੋੜ੍ਹ-ਚਿਰੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ: ਜੋ ਚਾਹਿਆ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਣ ’ਤੇ ਵੀ ਮਨ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Bhai Sahib explains in detail, through Gurbani, why the mind keeps wanting more and never settles. It is because of the five thieves seated within us: ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਝਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਮਨ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ। ਇਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੈਠੇ ਪੰਜ ਚੋਰਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੈ:
- Kaam — lustਕਾਮ
- Krodh — angerਕ੍ਰੋਧ
- Lobh — greedਲੋਭ
- Moh — attachmentਮੋਹ
- Ahankar — prideਅਹੰਕਾਰ
Their work is to keep us in illusion, to confuse us with thoughts, and to hold us away from God. The question then arises: what words shall we speak, and how should we act, to evoke the Lord’s love? ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਭਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਣਾ, ਫੁਰਨਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਪਾਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਹੈ। ਫਿਰ ਸਵਾਲ ਉੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ: ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਬਚਨ ਬੋਲੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਹੋਣ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਜਾਗੇ?
The treasure belongs to all ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਹੈ
Bhai Sahib dedicates his life to helping everyone understand Gurbani’s teachings and achieve union with Akaal Purakh, the merciful Lord — regardless of a person’s caste, tribe, religion, appearance, gender, or any other ground of discrimination. ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਇਸ ਸੇਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ, ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇ — ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਤ, ਗੋਤ, ਧਰਮ, ਰੂਪ-ਰੰਗ, ਲਿੰਗ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਤਕਰੇ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ।
Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji makes it clear that the treasure belongs to the whole human race. Whatever our physical appearance or wherever we come from, what is inside us is one — Jot Swaroop, the embodiment of the divine light. ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਡਾ ਰੂਪ-ਰੰਗ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਆਏ ਹੋਈਏ, ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੋ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਹੈ — ਜੋਤਿ ਸਰੂਪ।
